The North Museum is iconic to the Lancaster community for inspiring both the young and old through nature and science since 1953. What was once known as a cabinet museum is now a leader in the STEM conversation throughout the community.

When we first started our conversation with the North Museum we wanted to understand their intentions for the new site and how we could translate that into a fully functional robust online experience. We listened to the many pain points of their current website –the difficulty of updating the site down to the confusing jump links used throughout the site. We took our notes back to the office and then decided to experience the North Museum with kids in tow to see what the museum was all about. We were pleasantly surprised by how much the kids liked it and we liked it.

We brainstormed how to bring the experience of the North Museum to the web. We mapped out personas and how each persona would navigate the site– individuals, families, small groups, large groups, educational institutions and most importantly a wide variety of ages across all personas.   Next up was the wireframe stage – we created a series of wireframes to nail down the elements and content hierarchy for each page and then worked on the visual design.

The North Museum’s existing color palette was bright and cheery, translating nicely to the site. We brought in natural repeating elements and shapes for use as background elements and selected photography that displayed the level of engagement a patron has at the museum.

“The work that Pushingink has done for us is nothing short of incredible. Their professionalism and commitment to perfection shined through their design and organization of our brand new website. We couldn’t of created a better site without the generosity of Brian and Kate. We are forever grateful for Pushinink, their talent, and dedication to their community.

Pushingink took the hard work out of creating our site and kept us informed throughout the entire process. They explained everything thoroughly and clearly and put us at ease. They kept the lines of communication open and answered any questions we had with confidence. We will continue to work with Pushingink for all website development needs and recommend their business to anyone looking for the best quality website design.”
